After the famous “merge” between First Choice and TUI, things are settling down in destination and we can finally see them together. Now the local teams of First Choice and Thomson are going to be part of one team and to start a good merge the managers organized a big jolly for the reps of both companies.

In the morning they went zip lining in a local park near Tulum and later Delphinus organized a big lunch and a “Beach Olympics” for them at the paradise beach of Akiin in Tulum. Jolly First Choice/Thomson

The teams were previously divided in to five teams they each got a color and the fun started, first with the sacks jumps, some did excellent on that like Erick from First Choice that was later called “Erick Rabbitt” he bit everyone with long big jumps. Unfortunately some others in his team didn’t do as good like Dona that kept falling down with out even being able to put her hands in front of her face. This race got everyone going!!!

We continue by pulling the rope, two teams at once, there was a big whole in the middle of both and the looser team will fall into it!!!

The next challenge was to built a sand sculpture, the blue team built a boat of sand!!!, the red team……. You better see the pictures………. Some even made a small Chichen Itza pyramid!!! You can see how creative they got!!!

And the last challenge was to guide a blinded team mate around the restaurant with just the power of an instruction, it was funny to see how some told the blind person “follow me” but they couldn’t see were…….

We then counted the numbers and gave a price to the best team the Yellow!!! Actually there was a tie between two teams but the one that finally won was the Yellow team commanded by Kelly, brand new supervisor of Cancún.

We all chilled out on the amazing beach of Tulum with a few drinks and a gorgeous Caribbean ocean, some danced some samba others gave us a nice show, you can watch the video, until it was time to say good bye!

That's how we started the week with one of the destination's most popular birthday girls, Mrs. Marie Rose Biencinto, Manager of Destino de México.

Early Monday morning we started work on dolphin-decorating her office with 500 blue Delphinus balloons. Then, completely out of breath, we went back to work and left the surprise to wait for her arrival. She was so impressed when she went into her office and she couldn't even get into her office, so she ended up working in the Meeting Room.

In the afternoon, we returned and used our last breathe to sing Las Mañanitas and Happy B-day to her, and to share a delicious caramel cake.

We all ate just a little slice so as not to break our diets, but we closed the door so we wouldn't have to invite the rest of the Traffic team and could keep as much cake as possible for ourselves; it was really good! Anyway, we finally had to share with Transat and made a huge sacrifice and ate the whole cake, then left like nothing had happened.

After the mouthwatering cake, we said goodbye because we all have a lot of work during the high season. But first we gave the birthday girl a big hug from everyone at Delphinus.

On Thursday, March 20th, we celebrated Mr. Saulo Martínez, our Sales Manager, birthday. The whole party was planned by the Supervisors and Reps, who invited us to keep quiet for one minute so that, when Saulo walked into the Board Room, we would all sing Happy Birthday for him. Saulo had the surprise of his life when he saw all his staff and all of us gathered together to celebrate such a special day! After all the hugs, we got in line for a piece of cake, which, by the way, was delicious!

The end of the winter season has come and to thank their tour team and say goodbye to the Nordic members of their agency, Hotelbeds' Manager, Cesar Vela, invited team members for a taco fest at his house.

The first to arrive were the ever punctual Finns, followed by the Swedes and lastly, one hour later, by the Mexican tour team: "Next time, we have to tell the Nordic team members that the party starts an hour later", said Cesar.

Everyone was welcomed with a cold beer or wine. Once everyone was in the party mood, the taco chef opened the buffet. They had to explain to the Nordic tour team how to make their tacos and that the red onion was for the pork loin in annatto seed sauce (cochinita pibil) and not the mole tacos. Everyone quickly went back for seconds and some, like Anna, carried two plates!

Everyone was delighted with the delicious banquet and, after a couple beers, Lili and Anna decided to organize some games. The first challenge was from the Swedes, and consisted in walking a goodly stretch with a coat hangar held between the legs; the contestants looked like crabs trying to sidle along and we all laughed uproariously, especially when some of the really buff players broke a hanger! We're not sure who it was but we all suspect Carolina from tours or Martina from Apollo.

We then had to carry a spoon with an egg on it in our mouths and finally, pass a small card from mouth to mouth, which made us look like we were kissing. When tall Angie from Cashiers had to pass the card to the petite Leidy, the card dropped and they gave each other a big smack! You can imagine how we laughed at that!

Finally, the dancing started and since we were more women than men, Charlie, from tours, and David, from operations, had to keep pace with each other. But when Charlie danced with Anna, who is a head taller than he is and moves her legs like an octopus running a marathon, we couldn't stop laughing. Charlie was laughing so hard he couldn't dance; there was no way he could keep up with the step this fun-loving Swede showed us. It was very, very funny; please check it out on the video.

So, the evening ended and once again the Nordic team was the first to leave after taking a lot of photos with the guys that supported them during the winter season. Their boss, Cesar Vela, stayed behind with his team to reminisce about the good times of the high season until the wee hours of the morning, because the Tours team of Hotelbeds Riviera Maya has staying power.

On March 14 we had a Baby shower for Luz Godinez, supervisor of the Intermar Caribe (IMC) agency in the Riviera Maya. The shower was held at Delphinus' offices and reps from several agencies—including Hotelbeds, Apollo, IMC, and others—were there to celebrate with us. The future member of Luz' family is a BOY and is expected to arrive at the end of April or the beginning of May.

This little boy is Luz' second child; the first is Carlitos, who will soon have a little brother to play with.

The girls at Delphinus celebrated along with Luz and her guests amongst games, applause, prizes and laughter. Everyone came to celebrate together in honor of Luz' future soon-to-be-born baby.
